Over at the VC, Jonathan Adler reports:
The Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) may change its name to the “American Association for Justice.” Why? Well, according to ATLA president Ken Suggs, “”Our research shows that if our message is about helping lawyers, we lose. On the other hand, if we’re about getting justice and holding wrongdoers accountable, we win.”
So in addition to the Alliance for Justice, and the Institute for Justice — which of course disagrees almost 100% with the Alliance for Justice — now we might have the American Association for Justice.
Is it too late to change the name of this blog to “Law Blog for Justice”?
I am going to change my name to “Justice.”
The best entry in this category has to be the American Center for Law & Justice, where the “J” in the short form (ACLJ) mimics the “U” in “ACLU”. Not only are they for justice, they also get in a typographical swipe at their opponents.
I suggest ‘American Association For Great Justice’ myself.
S.cotus, when you are confirmed to the Supreme Court, will we have to call you Justice Justice?
There is persuasive literary precedent directly on point.
If all these groups ever combine forces, do they become the Justice League?
How about – OK Justice Blog? Has that down- home unpretensious Middle America ring to it, no?
